Don't miss our Chinese New Year's Banquet celebrating the Year of the Dragon, February 12, 2012.

Join us for a traditional Chinese New Year Celebration banquet, graced by His Excellency Ambassador Zhang Junsai and Madame Yin Guomei as well as Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson. The evening will feature a sumptuous Chinese banquet, door prizes, and entertainment.

The menu for 2012 will be similar to the 2011 menu but not the same.

Our Chinese New Year's Banquet on Feb. 12 is sold out. For those who have mailed in reservations with payment, please ensure that you have received a confirmation email from us to validate your reservation. Our apologies to those who missed out on getting reservations. We hope to see you at our other events.

Founding and Mission Statement

The Canada-China Friendship Society of Ottawa was founded in February 1976 with Dr. Peter Larson as its first interim president followed by Maija Kagis as the first elected president the following year. Its Constitution states its purpose as: to build active and lasting friendship and develop mutual understanding between the Canadian and the Chinese people; to promote an understanding in Canada of society in the People's Republic of China; and to promote cultural, scientific, educational, athletic and other exchanges between the Canadian and Chinese people. CCFS-Ottawa is a member of the Federation of Canada China Friendship Associations.

The CCFS-Ottawa name and logo were trademarked in July 2006 by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office.
